Back story: I was both saddened and frightened when Russia invaded Ukraine. I knew I could simply donate money to the cause but wanted to do more. So I created my Slava Ukraini series and announced I’d donate the entire purchase price to World Central Kitchen, Team Rubicon, or Spirit of America. Buyer’s choice. The buyer of this piece was so generous that she doubled my asking price to increase her donation (and my former employer’s match). She couldn’t choose among the organizations, so we split her donation among all three. It’s actions like these that restore my faith in humanity.
