Sales Inquiry: Banned Books: Tom Sawyer and Huckleberry Finn
Series: 5 of 5
Banned books: an issue on my mind a lot, lately.
A two-for-one ban of classics by Mark Twain: “Adventures of Tom Sawyer” and “Adventures of Huckleberry Finn.”
Censors found Tom Sawyer to be “a ‘questionable’ protagonist in terms of his moral character.” Tom has also been considered “pro-Communist, subversive, and racist.”
“Adventures of Huckleberry Finn” is one of the most challenged books in the U.S. because of its use of racial slurs and coarse language, and its depiction of characters of low morality.
Once again, I’m using multiple sparkle types that refuse to play well together in photographs; sorry about that.
